My name is Thomas Garchinski, and I’m a Métis photographer, filmmaker, and explorer dedicated to capturing the untamed beauty of our planet. My work doesn’t just showcase stunning scenery—it’s a call to see the world differently, to challenge what we think we know about the wilderness and reconnect with the raw, unfiltered power of nature.
I was raised with Indigenous ideologies and teachings passed down by my parents, instilling in me a deep respect for the land and its stories. These values have shaped every facet of my art, from the way I approach a scene to the emotion I aim to evoke in my audience. My goal isn’t just to document; it’s to inspire—to remind people of the lessons our earth offers: to slow down, feel deeply, and connect with something greater than ourselves.
My journey has taken me to some of the most remote and extreme landscapes in Canada—The Athabasca Sand Dunes, The Booming Ice Chasm, Nahanni National Park, and summits only attainable with technical climbing . These environments test my limits both physically and creatively. With skills in ice climbing, rock climbing, and alpinism, I push beyond the boundaries of accessibility to reveal landscapes many will never witness firsthand.
Whether I’m creating for brands that share my love for adventure or documenting the untouched wilderness for personal projects, my mission is always the same: to show the world as it truly is—wild, untamed, and deeply alive.
